Two Iranian films to attend WHO festival in Geneva

Iran’s ‘Breast Cancer’ and ‘Thousands of lullabies’ are to attend the 2020 Health for All Film Festival.

Iranian animation ‘Breast Cancer’ and short title ‘Thousands of lullabies’ have been selected to compete at the 2020 edition of the Health for All Film Festival in Switzerland.

Directed by Masih Masihzadeh-Lari, the animation ‘Breast Cancer’ is a film that shows the struggles of a woman with breast cancer and all the challenges she faces.

A synopsis to the short film ‘Thousands of lullabies’ by Maryam Bayani reads “Every day thousands of babies are born but each baby is unique to their parents. A journey into the mass-productive side of birth and its particularity to each parent”.

The Swiss festival received 1265 submissions from 119 countries.

The entries cover a wide range of subjects, including fighting cancer, providing healthcare in remote areas and courage of the nurses.

The festival, organized by World Health Organization (WHO), will take place on May 16-22, 2020.
